Launching young explorers into a world of possibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cubs\u2014young people aged 8 to 10\u00bd\u2014build new skills, bond through adventure, and stretch their imaginations. They:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Embark on exciting adventures<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Make friends and explore their curiosity<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Discover how to help others\u2014locally and beyond<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Meetings take place weekly in Cub Packs<\/strong>, where members dive into fun and challenging activities designed to build confidence and teamwork<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What Do Cubs Get Up To?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Adventure around every corner<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Whether racing down a river, telling stories by torchlight, falling asleep beneath the stars, or even making an edible raft out of sweets\u2014adventures aren\u2019t just big\u2014they\u2019re wherever you are. Cubs make magic out of the everyday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Learn by doing\u2014and grow as people<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    From cooking a meal to giving first aid, Cubs develop practical life skills. But the heart of their learning lies in building character\u2014like integrity<\/strong> (acting honestly) and initiative<\/strong> (taking charge without being asked). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Teamwork with purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Cubs tackle teamwork with heart. They\u2019ll learn about global issues and contribute locally\u2014whether campaigning for community causes, collecting for foodbanks, or planting trees in their park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What Does a Cub Pack Look Like?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Each Pack is led by an adult Cub leader<\/strong>, affectionately known as Akela<\/strong>, inspired by The Jungle Book<\/em>. They\u2019re supported by additional adult volunteers and sometimes by Explorer Scouts<\/strong> assisting through the Young Leader programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Within each Pack, Cubs are organized into a Six<\/strong>\u2014a small team led by a Sixer<\/strong> and a Seconder<\/strong>. These young leaders help welcome new members, support during camps or activities, and occasionally lead games themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Promise & Investiture Ceremony<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Becoming a Cub means embracing a journey of character and community. New members explore what their Promise means and, once they\u2019ve settled in, are invested<\/strong>: they say their Promise aloud\u2014often with family and friends there to cheer them on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cubs promise to treat fellow members with kindness, do their best, and make a positive impact\u2014guided by their beliefs and values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Uniform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The Cub Uniform consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Cub Shirt \/ Blouse<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Scarf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Cub Scouts are expected to look after their uniform by keeping them clean, ironed and badges sewn on in the correct locations and aligned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
